ScootMate is designed with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used. ScootMate collects no personal data, does not use analytics or advertising tools, and does not connect to any external servers.

1. Information Storage

ScootMate stores only limited technical information required for Bluetooth connection and user convenience:

Scooter Credentials and App Preferences:

Connection credentials are stored in Apple's Keychain, which is encrypted and managed by iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS.
Credentials sync securely across your devices via iCloud Keychain. No external servers or third-party cloud services are involved.

No other personal, device, or location data is collected or transmitted.

2. Bluetooth Access

ScootMate requires access to Bluetooth in order to communicate directly with your scooter.

Bluetooth is used only to discover, connect to, and exchange operational data (e.g., battery level, speed, range) with your scooter.
No Bluetooth information is shared with other apps or transmitted over the internet.
You may disable Bluetooth access at any time in iOS Settings, but core app functionality will be unavailable.

3. Watch and iPhone Data Sync

ScootMate synchronizes data between your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch to provide continuous monitoring and control. Keychain Sharing is used for encrypted scooter credentials (connection tokens), as well as to share the aforementioned device’s Bluetooth handle name and related state data. This communication occurs locally via Apple’s secure interprocess APIs; information is synchronized by using Apple's iCloud keychain api. No third-party cloud services are involved.

4. In-App Purchases

Purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple's App Store. ScootMate checks your entitlement status via Apple's StoreKit framework but does not access, store, or transmit any payment or billing information.

5. Siri Shortcuts

Voice commands are processed by Apple's Siri. ScootMate receives only the interpreted intent (e.g., "lock scooter"), not voice recordings or audio data. All voice processing occurs within Apple's systems.

6. Customer Support

If you contact ScootMate support at scorewizardapp@gmail.com, your email address and message content will be used only to respond to your inquiry. No data from your device is accessed or linked to your message unless you voluntarily provide it. Support correspondence is handled via standard email and is not stored or shared elsewhere.

8. Policy Updates

If the app’s features change in a way that affects data handling (e.g., new cloud services), this policy will be updated and a notice will appear within the app.

In summary: ScootMate processes all data locally on your devices. No analytics, tracking, or remote storage are used. Your scooter’s information never leaves your control.
